McCann Aviation Weather Research, Inc. was founded in 2005 after Don McCann retired from the National Weather Service with 36 years of aviation weather forecasting experience. While at the Aviation Weather Center (AWC) in Kansas City, MO, USA, he developed algorithms for all of the significant weather-related aviations hazards...aircraft icing, turbulence, thunderstorms, clouds, and visibility...which he operationally tested in his own aviation weather forecasts. The original algorithms that he developed are public-domain, however, Mr. McCann has improved them since. Mr. McCann formed McCann Aviation Weather Research, Inc. to offer the algorithms to those interested in improving their own aviation weather forecasts. Mr. McCann's Curriculum Vitea gives details about his experience. Teresa McCann, Mr. McCann's wife, joins him in this venture as its business manager. Ms. McCann managed within a small pharmaceutical testing company for many years. She complements Mr. McCann's scientific expertise with a professional approach to the resolution of inevitable paperwork. |
